All Skill Levels

Sylvester Stallone made a movie a while back called The Expendables—the theme of the movie boils down to this: Explosions, Tattoos, and Muscles ROCK. I’ve never met the man who wouldn’t like to have chiseled arms, and a flat, defined stomach to show off. Bottom line: guys, I know you want to build some muscle.

But you say things like: well, ‘I don’t want to be as big as Sly Stallone or Arnold’ (pronounced Ahh-nald), or ‘I don’t really want to lift heavy weights’ or ‘I just don’t have a lot of time, and even if I did, I don’t think I could see much for results.’

And maybe you’ve tried the gym thing, tried lifting some free weights, did the odd bench press, bicep curl, here and there and didn’t see mind-blowing results. There could be many reasons for scant results, including: improper intensity, routine (lack of proper intensity or progression), disorganized or random lifting patterns (chest, bis, abs and then out, right?), bad form, lack of proper instruction, motivation and adequate nutrition. Or you may have simply hit a plateau.

The truth is, most of us would be happy to lose a little of our gut and have bigger biceps, let alone see ‘mind-blowing’ results. The exciting truth is—we can lose fat and build muscle at the same time! The reasons for this are simple: more muscles mean your body burns more calories each day, even without you increasing your activity level. And, with the proper dynamic, intensity, weight, progression, intervals and exercises, your muscles can actually become a fat-burning furnace up to 38 hours after your workout! (It’s called EPOC—Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption=increased oxygen consumption means increased energy consumption).

Man Maker is designed to make more of men: decreasing body fat, while building muscle with a combination of strength training, circuit- and interval-based programming.

Build muscle. Lose weight. Gain Strength. Feel and look younger, stronger, healthier. This group class is tailored specifically for guys and involves a fun, challenging strength training workout that will leave you sweating, smiling, and feeling tough.
